The principal aim here described, is to help understand how Information Design can be used as a tool for decision making in the Interaction Design processes. This is a subject of particular interest for the Industrial Design Program of the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, specifically with regards to the implementation of strategies to access the University’s library volumes. This tool helps to make qualitative analyses and usage of information from points of view traditionally not taken into consideration in productivity reports. Thus, allowing faculty to better understand student’s contexts and motivations in which information is accessed (as well as, when and why). This information can give faculty the tool and ability to make specific changes and provide incentives to promote Library usage.
