Abstract

The study presents a systematic review of scientific publications on instruments for measuring Subjective Well-Being (SWB) in adults, using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) model. The databases used were PubMed, PsycInfo, and the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Twenty-three studies were analyzed according to the following categories: 1) validity and/or reliability assessment studies; 2) creation and validation studies; 3) invariance studies; 4) correlational studies; 5) invariance and intergroup comparison studies; 6) correlational and validation studies; 7) invariance and correlational studies; 8) adaptation and validation studies. Results indicate that five instruments encompassing populations aged 18-65 years were covered. It was observed that they are used in different countries; moreover, validity and reliability were evident, which supports their choice for assessments and research. In addition, findings guide interventions and public policies aimed at promoting quality of life.
